Project 8: Colton Fox: Self Titled
Colton Fox is a solo artist from Austin, Texas with a Psychedelic, Pop style. The music has a bit of Retro 70’s feel and almost brings one back to the time when bands such as Pink Floyd, Zeppelin and Genesis were given free reigns by the record companies to experiment with the newest technology in any way the see fit so as long as there is a hit or two mixed in somewhere.
I designed two very different album covers for this artist because a listener can easily perceive his work either way: Psychedelic and whimsical or clean and pristine. The artist had a difficult time picking the best design and so he asked for both. He’s one of the few musicians I’ve designed for that wanted an alternate album cover just keep the fan on their toes. The colorful, Psychedelic cover has that Genesis feel while the white album cover has more a feel that might remind one of Prince or some other Pop artist from the 80’s.
